How to post an article with inline images you upload
Posting an article in our library here at the OrchidTalk Orchid Forum has never been easier. If you can reply to a thread and create a thread in the forum, you are ready to publish your article. The text editor works exactly like the text editor in the forum. Smilies work the same way too.
The only difference between the text editors is the way attachments are processed.
Attachments are files you upload to the RVO server. These files are usually photos or image files that you want to include within your article. Here are the steps required to create an article with your uploaded images inserted within the text of your page. Please note that images over 500 pixels x 500 pixels will not show up in your article. If you image is too large, you will see a link to your photo in your article.
- Create a new 'page' (article) by clicking on Create Content >> Page
- Type in a title for your article. Remember to use something descriptive that tells what your article will contain or teach.
- Select a category from any of the three drop-down menus that you see on the page above the text editor window.
- Start typing your article in the WYSIWYG text editor.
- When you get to where you want to insert your image, use the following code:
Continue typing your article or go ahead and upload your image. TO upload your image, scroll down the main page under the text editor window until you see >File Attachments. Click 'File Attachments' and you will get a "Browse" button. Browse your computer until you find your image and then click "OK". Next you will need to click on the "Attach" button. This will cause the RVO server to upload your image from your local machine.
Now that you have attached the image, scroll down to the bottom of the page under the 'File Attachment' area and click on the "Preview" button. Your image should now display in your article exactly where you placed it. Remember you can format your article using tables and cells, so placing images anywhere on the page is possible.
Finally, review your article and image placement carefully and then hit 'Submit' to publish your article in our orchid article library. Good luck.
