Default Phal pod - lost :-((

Can anyone tell me why my phal lost his pod after about 2 and a half month?
There was no warning for this and now the mother-plant is in bloom.
Here are the photos:

Thank you!

It is hard to say why , sometimes a plant will do that , I have read on some if selfed that might happen . Or might be a genetic glitch . Just guesses . Gin

I had that happen to several plants I crossed just for fun. Quite disappointing -- just when you are all excited over what appears to be 'success', it aborts

I have had that happen but only when crossing with other plants within the genre but not when just crossing with phals,I think it is something to do with your culture.

Was there a temp change? That might have stressed the plant and caused the abortion of the pod.

Cheers,
