Default Seeds ordered

Hey everyone. Just wanted to say I ordered some seeds from OSB today along with some media to give flasking a shot. This is what I ordered.

1Bulbophyllum lobbii (790) 1Cattleya schilleriana (999)
Wish me luck.

sounds like fun. do you have a plan of attack? what kind of equipment do you have?

ive never flasked before, but ive *de*flasked. the deflasking was totally satisfying - watching the tiny growths, well, *grow*. im sure that it would be awesome to see through the entire process from start to finish.

good luck!

Good luck with the whole growing thing Josh, and Bulbo lobbii is a great plant. Huge flowers for the size plant.. and the hinged lip is fun to watch bobbing up and down...

Cheers
Tim

Thanks for the encouragement!! I am able to use the flow hood at my school microbiology lab, and thats where I will sow the seeds. I plan to take pictures through the entire project, and I will post them here. That way folks like Kewpie can see as well. I know its something I would like to see, but never had the chance to yet, so I'm going to do it myself. LOL I didn't notice the hinged lip on the Bulbo yesterday. I was able to see one in flower at my OS meeting anf just thought the plant was awsome. It was being grown on a tree fern slab. It had reached the sides, and was starting to grow on the underside. It was cool. It had one flower on the plant with 9 more to open. Thats when I decided to get one. LOL Well a whole bunch provided atleast half the seeds grown. Thanks again everyone. I will keep you posted with pics.

If I can find a new shoe for my tripod I plan on shooting the steps as well. Right now I have an offer from a UNH botony-genetics lab area, and then another lab on the UNH campus. I guess it all comes down to who will let me try out my craziness.

And speaking of which, something tells me I should outline exactly what I will be doing to make sure that they will allow it. I guess a step by step rehearsal on paper.

And paranoia, lots and lots of paranoia.

oooh see, that I would love to see...

I've just crossed a Dendrobium kingianum with a Dendrobium tetragonum (yes I know it's been done before 100 million years ago but I wanted to experiment) so pictures of step by step how to flask would be brilliant!

Cheers
