This is a discussion on Odontocidium Tiger crow hybrid help? within the Breeding & Hybridization forums, part of the Orchid Propagation category; I have an Odcn Tiger crow which is in spike, I would like to know, ...
I have an Odcn Tiger crow which is in spike, I would like to know, when it blooms, what is the shelf life for pollen collected if refrigerated, and would it be possible to breed it with a Onc. Sharry Baby which is currently huge and should bloom in a month or so if its true to last year's schedule. I would like to shoot for the fast growth, deep red/pink and the fragrance of Sharry baby and the gold color and large flowers of the Tiger crow. First time trying to breed orchids so if someone could give me some pointers and tell me if this crazy scheme could work then that would be great!
For those that do orchid breeding. I bet the shelf life of the pollen would be pretty long, but I await the experts who do this type of work.
cheers,
