I used Physan in reaction to rot with a Phal flask I compotted. Things were fine for the first few weeks and I thought I was out of the woods.
Then leaves started browning and mushing - little, tiny leaves, mind you. Those tiny seedlings are hard to pot, particularly when they're sharing a compot. Half the roots stick up in the air, and it's tough to get the roots in the medium and the leaves above it. It think that was the trouble - constant moisture to the leaves.
I used sphag. Tiny bark mix might have been better. I didn't have much trouble with my Phrag flasks, but the grower offered to send the compots, to which I said, "Yea!" So I only repotted those when the seedlings were much larger. The stuff coming out of flask is tiny.
It might be wise to spray flasklings every few days with Physan to be on the safe side. I do know you'll lose the tiny weaklings, and you have to figure that in. You can't buy a flask of 25 seedlings and then have 25 small plants to share with friends. Some number won't make it.
Anyone interested in trying babies, should PM me. There's a wonderful species flasking service where you can sign up for a flask of 16-25 babies, for a very reasonable price. I can't post the link, but will gladly PM you if you're interested. Typical nurseries sell flasks or compots for big bucks. My Phrag flasks were $100-$150 each. This other site offers flasks for $30.
What are you shopping for, Diane Thumb?
I thought perhaps you were going into the surrogate mother business.....
LOL! I'm missing some rather necessary parts! Afraid I'll have to find another line of work...
Perhaps you could be the broker, LOL

Just piping in (no pun intended, Piper) hee hee hee.....to say that my pods are patiently awaiting to hear if they will soon be traveling north......
