Aaron and I are shooting for Feb 23, Doodle, but I have to first make sure we can get hood time on that day.

If your pods are close to mature, you might want to tape a coffee filter around them. If they split open on you which they can do with no warning they'll scatter seeds everywhere. The filter will catch them, and you won't loose seeds, should that happen.

Wow, what an epic read. Is there an update at all at this point 'cause I'm hooked and need to know how the babies are doing!

I'm with Elena! What's happening with the little protoplants?

LOL! Two months at this stage is an eye blink in orchid time! They're pretty much as the January pictures show, I'm assuming. Aaron's in charge of the nursery. I get them back when they go to preschool and come out of flask.

Of the five flasks we sowed three of Mildred Rives as pod parent and two of gaskelliana as pod parent, one of the gask flasks browned out. We're not exactly sure why that can happen, when everything seems to be going along fine. It's not a contamination thing. Aaron thinks maybe they exhausted the nutrients in the flask.

We were talking about replating the remaining gask flask last month, because the babes were growing so quickly. But I wasn't sure how many times we could pester the Bio professor at Dartmouth, who'd let us use his sterile hood, so I asked Aaron to judge when we really needed it, if we might only get to use it once more. We decided to wait.

For more photos, you'll have to chip in and buy the Minister of Silly Flasking a digigtal camera. That, or else he and I will meet up again we're an hour forty drive apart and I'll snap some baby photos.

Aaron, do you have any teacher friends or school contacts in your area? I could always come up and visit some schools...

That sound like it could be fun, maybe I'll try something like that some day. With all the nurseries in the area, one for sure in St. Petersburg that has a lab, it shouldn't be too hard. I've got nothing but time anyways....

Connie, you've said on a couple of posts that you don't have much to do in the day, what's up?

I've asked the Minister for an update on the kids. I'm waiting to hear.

I am such a lummox. Only discovered this tread this week. I blame the exams for frying my brains.

Anyhoo, is there an update? I would really like to see the babies shaping up. And Piper, could you please PM me the info about cheap babies. Thanx.
