Default My first time

I have a Paph. Hsinying Redcrane '307' x Paph. Hsinying Sceptre 'C.H.#2' that is blooming, and would like to try to breed it with another, Paph. Shadow Magic, that is getting ready to bloom. This is my first time to try to breed any plants, so I will need some pointers, but I figured that I should go ahead and extract the pollinia from the flower as early as possible. What would be the best way to store them. I read in one post about something called glassine. What is that? Thanks...

I am not sure of the best way, but we have stored pollin in the fridge before. Just keep moisture away from it.

Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

“Pollination has the greatest chance of success if it takes place shortly after the opening of the flower (one week)”. You can store pollen in a straw for example.

It is not my idea, you can trust the person who wrote the article because she knows the subject very well
==== Site des orchidouxdingues ===== Polinisation des Paphiopedilum

It is in French but you can have a look. There are a lot of picture…

Very nice article! I wish you or someone with permission could translate it to English and post it as an article in our orchid article library.

Cheers,
BD
