We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Nope..Sheaths don't necessarily produce a higher flower count--but a plant that has bloomed a few times eventually does

my first two blooms were singles, perhaps the sheath helps produce multiples?
Will send more pictures when they open!

This was an excellent post - it was really fun to watch the progression from sheath, to buds, to blooms! Thank you for continually updating us on their progress - the catts are lovelicious!!!!!

Thanks everyone for your encouraging replies! This is my one and only catt which I received as a gift 2 years ago, and I'm so happy that its still very healthy and blooming.
Needless to say, I enjoyed posting messages and pictures and getting so much feedback from the members of this forum, most of who are across the globe from where I am.
Special mention to my daughter Kara who is into photography and helped me a lot in taking the pictures.
This is a great forum, am learning a lot from it, and even thinking of increasing my collection of catts now that I know more about them.
Many thanks!!!

I just noticed that two of the flowers have color streaks on the backs.
Is that normal for that cultivar?
