Wow what a beauty ! Baby Audra is not a registered name, But definitely looks like a maikai or morning glory hybrid, so a brassolaelia or brassocattleya parentage is certain. The yellow in the lip reminds me of cattleya maxima. A similar looking hybrid is Brassocatanthe Haleahi Profusion (maikai x maxima), the semi alba plant would look very similar. Another one is Brassocattleya Richard's Bonanza (Richard Mueller x C. Bonanza Queen) but both the plants are registered recently. But I think looking at old Richard Mueller crosses would be a good place to start.

Sorry, for the repost, but I checked out all the Richard Mueller crosses, none are registered before the late 90s. Its quite astonishing though, Richard Mueller has been registered in 1965 but no hybrids till 91, and most after 96 till 2003.

That info was MOST interesting, Amey. Maybe when I get this division on Thursday, I'll have to find out "what" I can do to get it registered. I've had a lot of nice orchids, but this one is my favorite. It's fragrant, and blooms twice a year. Thanks, Betty

It is very beautiful Betty; delicate with a fragrance... I understand why it is your favourite.

Betty, may I ask why you gave it away if it is one of your favorites?
