Looking forward to the pictures, Maura. I have an Encyclia that is in bud now. Hope it is bractescens. BTW how's the bonsai coming along. After seeing your plant i'm trying to do something with my 2 bougainvillea plants that I've neglected for a long time, It really is so much hard work. Looks like might have to abandon them again . Realise bougainvillea are just too robust and quick growing to be good subjects for lazy would-be bonsai-er.

Hi, Yew. Phillip and I had a bonsai expert offer to come to our home and help us with repotting some of our trees. He was very skilled and we ended up workng on 5 or 6. I repotted my Grewia, which has been protesting my treatment of it practically since I got it, and he also helped with repotting and shaping a small dwarf pomegranate I just acquired. I will post photos of both as soon as I can. If I were you, I would really try to work with the bougainvillea - they make absolutely stunning bonsais and it would be worth the work involved. You might want to go online to see if there are any societies, masters, or seminars around you. That helps far more than reading books. Hang in there!

Thanks for all the wonderful compliments, everyone! I'm happy that all of you approve of the mount..Encyclias seem to do a lot better when they are mounted. Betty
