it reminds me a bit of my cattleya harrisoniana... but without the markings on the side lobes of the labellum.

another close relative is cattleya loddigesii..

now that of course is assuming this is a species... how many flowers are on the spike?

    cheers

I am thinking along the line with Tim. If it is a species, then it could be C. harrisoniana or loddigesii. It could also be a hybrid with lot of harrisoniana or loddigesii.

This is going to bug me, I am pretty sure I saw it a few days ago and the name is in my brain somewhere, but my brain isn't working this week, lol. I'll look around and see if I can find it again.

assuming that the plant is in pretty good condition and it is happy with the growing environment, then three flowers suggests harrisoniana... loddigesii tends to be more floriferous.

of course, I could be way off track.. so fingers crossed Connie remembers the name.
