Wow! that is awesome! I too have one of these and am in two minds on culture of these here in Melbourne Australia. We have a Mediterranean climate, thus, hot summers and dry, wet and cold winters. Got a plant sent to me that was grown cool and it seemed to flower as it arrived in flower. Any culture tips you may want to share, and are they as notoriously slow growing as I have heard?
    Look forward to your comments.
Cheers from stinking hot Melbourne, we got up to 35C today!! and it's night here and yet we still have 32C....

Hi Ozorchid .Thanks for your interest in my picture of the Schomburgkia Tibicinis. You may be OK because I have read that the reason the Schomburgkia grows wild in Cayman Brac in the jungle up on their Bluff is because Schomburgkia like lots of water in the summer and fall (during their growing season) and very little in the Winter & Spring. That happens to be the way the rain goes at the Brac. For example it rained 30 inches in the month of October (2007) and a total of only an inch in December,January, and February (2008). They grow on tree trunks with lots of morning sun and evening son out in the front yard of peoples homes.
