This is the newest addition that I picked up at the show last night. I'm not normally a Den person (only had a kingianum until now) but this is such a happy little plant. This is just a small part of it, the whole thing is covered in flowers and buds
Beautiful waxy looking flowers.
Elena that is beautiful. The little red veins are so neat.
Elena - dDid you go to the RHS show in London last night?
It's a lovely plant, I did spend quite a bit of time looking at Dendrobiums, but in the end ran out of money buying things I knew I am unlikely to kill!
Thank you guys! I'll try to post an updated picture once more buds open.
Kerry, I did I didn't have much trouble restraining myself actually, there weren't many things that tempted me. I only bought this guy and a huge Sc. Canhamiana. Both plants were on my wishlist so no impulse buys at all.
Did you go today or last night? What did you get? Do spill!
Well I went today for about 2 hours, I hadn't actually intended to go as I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment, but Tom kept saying are we going? (I think he was happy to go as he was going to watch the Arsenal game up at the Emirates stadium and it was sort of on the way) so in the end I put my shoes on and off we traipsed...
I came back with a Vanda Sern's Delight, Blc Beauty Girl 'Kendolie Lily', Blc Tsutung Beauty 'Orchis-01' (wow how imaginative that name was for the clone!) although only Beauty Girl was in flower, she's a bit battered as she was one of the many droves of bare root catts they were selling and I don't think they were expecting any to flower, tied up in fish net as they were, then there was a hybrid phal which I only realised when I got home was not the one I had been gesitculating wildly at as I tried to paw through the bare root cattleyas so am a little bit irritated, but it's still nice, SLC Jewel Box 'Schehezarade' and Phal Sweet Memory. I was going to try getting the one and only phal leuddmanniana (I can never spell that) but I had officially run out of cash and the seller only took cash or cheques - I didn't even know ANYONE took cheques anymore (ok overexaggeration... but really! I wouldn't eve know where my cheque book was anymore... even the local supermarkets don't take cheques anymore!)
I think that was it. They are currently dotted around the house after some super fast repotting and even faster hoovering up the mess I made afterwards! I have yet to take photos, but will try to do so to share with everyone.....
Sounds like you had a far more productive visit than me. Shame about the Phal but at least it's not a dog.
Sweet Mamory is a great Phal, mine was in flower for ages. And I saw the Jewel Box plants, they have such richly coloured flowers!
Wonderful Yellows and Oranges Elena. How big is the plant now?
The plant has 5 mature canes which are about 9-10 inches tall.
Lovely color. Congrats!
