    Diane,

    Some of the warmth tolerant nobile Hybrids (those made with D. Princess) bloom and grow easily without any chilling. Crossing and back-crossing with D. moniliforme adds a lot of vigor.

    have you tried chilling and drying it out?
    That's how I get mine to flower. It basically lives outside in the cold winters and receives almost full sun at that time. I perhaps mist it weekly and if canes are looking a tad shrivelled I may just sprinkle a bit of water on it.
    I treat most of the Indians like that except for some of the warmer growing ones which i keep in the glasshouse and yet keep dry also.

    I can't seem to get the water/humidity right for dends...

    2 words ignore them... for humidity they get what they get on the porch , water when dry ... I can grow the nobile types but not the other kind . Gin

    Hmmm - don't think that will work in SoCal. Often have humidity below 10 % when the Santa Anas blow. Someday I'll have a greenhouse......
