    Default Enc. prismatocarpa

    Very cool color patterns on these flowers.
    I bought it in spike so no bloom credits for me At least they did not blast when I brought it home.
    The flowers are not that large, about 1.5 inches across.

    prismatocarpa? What does that mean in Latin, "Color hand" "Color" something??

    I have no idea, I'm not versed in Latin

    Further reading also indicates that this orchid has the following synonyms:
    Prosthechea prismatocarpa
    Epidendrum prismatocarpum
    Epidendrum uro-Skinneri hort.
    Pseudencyclia prismatocarpa

    Such an identity crisis... poor orchid.
