Someone has sugegsted that it might be a case of white compensation. I shall explore that possibility.

I really want a Vanda luzonica in the 2010 calendar, lol...

I think you need to adjust the white balance of the cannon or use a flash. The camera should be able to do much better than that.

Nice flower, how big is it?

I shall pay attention to that item next time.

The individual blooms are about 5 cm. across.

Though a Canon fan, I do prefer the Oly pic. The Canon's is crisper, as BD mentioned, especially on the 2nd shot but the color is off - too blue. A bit of photoshopping would be in order to adjust the pic color. The Oly's color appears to be more accurate.

    Either way beautiful vanda.

You can adjust the whitebalance. Do you shoot RAW? This gives you the most control over the images. If you want to I can try and fix these images.

Default Thank you for the comments, guys.

    Olga, I don't shoot RAW. I am a neophyte, a self-learner.

Thank you for the offer to fix the white balance, but if you do that for me I shall never learn how to post-process with Photoshop.

Nice one Nelson, gotta love those Vandas. They certainly know how to put on a show.
