    I grow mine in Hydroton. They don't like scads of water but don't like to dry out for long either...easy plant. Mine seems to be in bloom six months out of the year.

    Rob, I don't really use diatomite. This an one and another plant came in it and I allows them to remain. Both are doing fine...the other is a Catt

    Clint, that's why I was thinking of sphag in clay. It will dry out quickly!

    Do you have the hybrid or johnsoniae itself?

    The hybrid. Here is a pic of mine taken last year in bloom. It's in bloom now, but I have yet to photograph it this year..a tiny cute plant!

    I also have the D. abberans parent, in my collection. It is a cute, small plant...about 2" high

    I figured it was small, because the johnsoniae isn't. It's medium sized - maybe 14-16".
