    Default Brassanthe Maikai 'Mayumi'

Sunday was my OS meeting. I couldn't resist this beauty, as it was only 10 bucks! This is Brassanthe (Bsn.) Maikai 'Mayumi', a primary hybrid between Brassavola nodosa & Guarianthe (formerly Cattleya) bowringiana. Thus, this may be known to some of you by Bc. Maikai. (Darn taxonomists strike again!)

Anyone who likes Richard Mueller or its crosses will understand this plant's appeal.

The first photo shows the plant with its two spikes. (For only 10 bucks? I must have been a very good boy! LOL) I hope the rest of the plants in my display area aren't too distracting. The second focuses on one of the spikes, and the third, of course, shows the nice spotting of the flowers fairly well.

    Cheers,
    Rob
