    Thanks for all the nice comments on my pictures (and my growing!)

    I have recently discovered the "macro" setting on my camera and I am going crazy with it!
    Besides the rupicolous Laelias (Sophronitis?) are so intensely colored that they look amazing in full sun. You can't take a dull picture with those blooms.
    (no wonder they are used in all those Catt hybrids).

    Laelia Angereri is actually the tallest rupicolous, my plant is almost 20 inches tall (pbulb + leaf) and the spike is almost 2 feet long. growing in a 5" pot.
    Most of the rupicolous laelias are midgets compared to this "big guy".

    The flowers are very small compared to the size of the plant but you can't beat the color!

    Quick update as more blooms have opened, not full spike yet but still a pretty display of little red stars!
