    Default Blc Keowee

This is a first bloom for me on a cross of Lc. Lorraine Shirai and B. nodosa. I have seen nicer from this cross but it has potential with future bloomings

Ron, how nicer? Larger blossom? No wrinkle to the petals or sepals? Color? I know I ask this often of you but I am just trying to better understand what to look for. Thanks, Joe

Well to start with the petals and sepals could have been smoother but that might have to do that the bud formed against the greenhouse wall before I discovered that it was in spike. The lip could also be of better form and not reflexed. I have seen much better color in other Keowee. I will see how the next bloom looks.

I purchased this plant 5 years ago from a NJ vendor while on vacation, at the shore. The plant has struggled ever since. I have finally nursed it to a point that it gave me one bloom and I guess I was disappointed on how it turned out.

It has to be hard to spend so much time (and bench space) and not have the orchid thrive.
