I just came back from an orchid show this weekend and bought 10 new orchids. I haven't been around the forums lately but I wanted to share some of my great finds.
This one had a lovely bloom and I am such a sucker for Encyclias and any crosses with them!
Beautiful yellow, I really like it!
I knew if you saw this Lambe that you would like it! It was the first thing I saw and I grabbed it pronto!
It it an interesting cross Ron...I love the yellow!
It's the best of both worlds for me! ... a Laelia/Encyclia cross ...
My two favorite genuses .. (is this the correct plural?)
Genuses...sounds right to me but I could be wrong too!
I have 4 other orchids in spike that I will post when they bloom. Two are encyclias... Enc. maderoi and Enc. diurna.
The spike on the maderoi is super long ...around 3 feet or so. I had a hard time finding somewhere to put it!
There are a couple of guys I order from occasionally who are always crossing their encyclias with other orchids. They said they have noticed that the flower shape is almost always like the encyclia parent and the color is dominant from the other parent.
I love finding crosses like these!
