Default Rhynchosophrocattleya (Rsc.) S. y N. Memoria Joselo

    Hi all,

I know, I know--it's a horrible clunker of a name! Not only is the genus unfamiliar to most of us, for which we can blame the taxonomists (used to be Potinara until they changed one of the ancestral species), but the grex name is, likewise, awkward. I hope you will agree, though, it's quite a nice flower. I bought it at my OS show last year in bloom, and it rebloomed for me last fall. Both of them were single blooms on a spike. This time, two! I guess it's probably not necessary to say I'm happy with the plant? LOL

It's a cross between Cattleya intermedia & Rsc. (formerly Potinara) Little Toshie

    Cheers,
    Rob

How pretty. A gorgeous plant with an unpronounciable name. Oh well, a rose (or orchid in this case) by any other name..........

Thank you for sharing this little jewel with us.

Yes, I do agree that it is a nice flower, despite the name. The splashes of colors on the edge are pretty.

It is such a tiny bloom for such a large name - lol. I really like the colors and shape. Looks like the plant is very healthy too! You should be happy. It is really nice. Congratulations

    Cheers,
    BD

Awww, Becky, you are so kind! Coming from someone I consider to be one of the premiere mini-catt growers on this forum, that's praise indeed!

Thank you to everyone for their nice comments.

    Cheers,
    Rob
