Hi Shann, just had another look-sie at this... and I'm still in awe. Thanks for sharing this genus with us, it's a great way to learn more about orchids esp those that we aren't able to grow due to space issues.

Yes, the scent was wonderful! It was something that I certainly knew before, like sort of perfume mixed with sweets, candies etc.I also noticed the scent was stronger in the mornings.
Yes, the scent does seem stronger in the morning. That was when I walked outside and was like..."hello, who smells so good today"!

Beautiful plant and inflorescence! Good growing!
I have one too, but it is growing very slowly and no signs of flowering in the near future. Maybe I need to send it to your place for training
Hehe...just keep watching for new growth...that is a good sign of a getting a possible spike!

    Sooo beautiful, Shann!

I mentioned in another thread that I will get my new Nikon D300 soon and I am so excited and what kind of pictures I will be able to take with this amazing camera!!! Glad you liked it Lambe!

I think this orchid is pretty versatile and may work for you...maybe someone on the site could tell us for sure if it would grow well in your climate.

Glad to hear you enjoy this orchid...I know I do! Most of my collection doesn't have a scent so this is a real treat for me.

Yay...thanks BD! I can't wait to see if the next pseudobulb will be even bigger!

    Shann~

Ya know thats one of many things that has attracted me to Encyclia's. I love those plump, round, smooth, shinning pseudo-bulbs they have. They kind of remind me of Russian Onion Domes! AL
