No, it looks like a good place. With those roots, you can simply wrap them back into the pot after you water and they are soft. (Kind of like an up-do hair style... lol) We do it or our vanda roots would grow into the orchid pots below them on the benches.

    Cheers,
    BD

This started to open up this morning, and now it's just about all open and looking beautiful and happy. That makes me very happy (although not necessarily beautiful... LOL).

I tucked a piece of cork behind it, to make it easier to see.

That is so lovely! I think the colour on Monster is just gorgeous and I love to see the buds open, Sadly on the ones I had buds on up to now they have all blasted ( bought in bud and conditions changed too much I think) so it is great to see yours opening my Thunia bud is still looking viable so I am hoping it will be ok, and you also have your Hawaiin Leopard that will open soon, It is so exciting seeing them open up and with your Vanda (monster) it is great as the buds will open slowly so the flowers will last ages! well done it must be happy with you!

to Becky and her tireless quest, my NOID Vanda now has a name. It's called:
    V. Trevor Rathbone 'Banjong'

I am soooooooooo happy that I can stop calling it "the monster," and/or the NOID Vanda.

Becky, I hope when yours arrives, it's as beautiful (or more so) than mine. Please post photos and let us see it.

very nice! When I had a vanda, I would keep it hanging in my western window. I would dip the pot and roots in a bucket of water and let it soak for 20 min. and then hang it above the bucket to drip off. I would summer it outdoors and it would bloom 2-3x a year.
