    Default L Flava x L Harpophylla

Primary hybrid (not occurring in nature) of two brazilian laelias.
Today's cloudy NYC weather helped me capture the beautiful orangy-yellow color of the blooms.

I love the color! I have the L. flava in that encyclia cross and it was also yellow.

    Very nice!

You are right, Clint. L Flava should be correctly named L Crispata and it should be called Sophronitis instead of Laelia ...

(I am so used to calling them laelias. Can't deal with all the name changes!
Not sure if the Harpophylla is now a Sophronitis ... I know it was changed to Dungsia for a while ... Ron would know ... )

Oh, Laurent, that is so sunny and beautiful! You can't help but smile. Show it to the clouds outside and they will disappear in shame. LOVELY.

Yes harpopylla is now Sophronitis but who knows for how long. Rumor has it that these may end up being put into the genus Cattleya.

Here are all of it's former names:

    Hoffmannseggella harpophylla (Rchb.f.) H.G.Jones, Caldasia 10: 494 (1970).

    Sophronitis harpophylla (Rchb.f.) Van den Berg & M.W.Chase, Lindleyana 15: 117 (2000).

    Dungsia harpophylla (Rchb.f.) Chiron & V.P.Castro, Richardiana 2: 11 (2002).

Cattleya harpophylla (Rchb.f.) Van den Berg, Neodiversity 3: 7 (2008).
