So far, every Mabel Kanda i've acquired has croaked in very grotesque ways. Great job on that one! Maybe mine were bad or something.... lol

Can I ask you how tall the blooming p-bulb is? I have one of these and I was hoping that it would bloom soon.
I want to say 6-7 inches. I would love to see how your blooms look when they finally come along!

Oh my...I am extremely curious as to how the poor things died!!

Please update when all buds open.!
I will...there has been a bit of bud blast...might have let it get too dry.

I honestly don't know what I do to them. They seem to be fine and then they wither up and fall over. I'm guessing it's overwatering...but I'm not sure. Maybe it's underwatering as they seem to wither up slowly over time. Call me a glutton for punishment, I found a nice one (baggy baby) on sale at a big box store. I got a suprise when I looked it up...it's the one posted here! lol

Connie, while I was reading your post I realized that I got the same one in a bag at the end of last week... I was drooling over Shann's a month ago... I still do (mine is a little thing...)...
Shann, you never posted an update picture in full bloom...

Whoops...no I didn't..its almost done blooming...a caterpillar also chewed on the blooms and a few blasted.

I can tell you this..I think these type of orchids prefer to be mounted. I have a similiar plant that I removed from its pot and attached so some cork last year:

    Epicyclia MabelKanda X Enc. Cordigera

I think they like their roots to dry quickly so when they are mounted like that you can hose it down or sit it in the rain about twice a week and it thrives. I need to post an updated pic of how much that guy has grown being mounted on that cork.

Thanks for the advise and I would love to see a pic of how big it is now! This was the first one I got, and two days latter I got another Epi Green Hornet... I am still not sure what to do with them.

This guy hangs way up so he gets lots of air flow...if he ever spikes though I will have to move him:
