Maybe I need to go on vacation. Seems like everyone has great surprises waiting for them when they get back. Hmmmmmm Cute little flower, nice mount too.

Beautiful...what a nice surprise ! I was given a very small encyclia kiki 2 years ago, told to pot it small, which I did and it surprised me with blooms last spring which were brown and lavender. anyone know which variety it is? Unfortunately, I was not told to let it dry out some, and hope I haven't sacrificed this spring's blooms. I read they can be potted in small fir bark and perlite, but I see yours are mounted. Do yu recommend mounting?" I live in Tarpon Springs, Fl. on the gulf coast (not far from Tampa). I grow all my orchids outside on the lanai but protect them when the temperature drops below 50 degrees.
