Could you explain please. What means lava rock? May be the coals? No Sphagnum, no pine bark? On your video it is not visible to me what the plant grows in, but I like it so much

Could you advise me what should I do with my (Neofinetia falcata - Rhy. Coelestis, blue) x Rhy. Retusa arriving tomorrow from Kultana?

    Thank you.

The orchid is potted in lava rock. Lava rock is an open, very porous, light-weight rock. it can be purchased at most home improvement or boxstores. The orchid in the video is potted in an 8 inch (maybe 10 inch) plastic pot. The lava rock is there for stability, but it doesn't retain much moisture.

Our vandas are grown in baskets with lava rock as well. They get very bright sunlight and watered and fed every week. We keep the humidity very high in the greenhouse and have good air movement.

I hope that is what you wanted to know.

    Cheers,
    BD

Thanks, Julie. We have been growing the one in the video for awhile now.
I hope you get a nice one. There are pink as well as blue varieties too.

    Cheers,
