    Default Couple new catts

Our local orchid society had its sale yesterday and I picked up a couple small catts in bloom. I love the colors! Unfortunately, when I got them home and checked more thoroughly, the roots on both were not in very good shape. I repotted immediately into semi-hydro and hope that with the rotting crap out of the way, there'll be some new root growth. Not buying from that person again.

The pinky orange one with a single bloom is Pot (Erin Kobayashi x Marlene Lundquist) 'Carmela' and the butter yellow one with multiple blooms is Blc Golden Chieftain 'Akukii.' I really love the colors and hope they grow some roots.

By the way, does anyone know why in photoshop when you have a really yellow flower, and do the standard adjustments, some of the greens turn purple or blue?

Janet, Your new Potinara is beautiful... Don't worry... Catts are tough plants and will recover very soon... Those "Auto levels/Color/Contrast" adjustment do no good... I think you should use more manual adjustments like "Brightness/contrast or Hue/Saturation"... Select the green/yellow channels and change the hue...

Oh I really like the yellow one. So pretty. I agree with Mohsen about the auto adjustments in photoshop. Best to do it manually with the settings he mentions in his reply.

    Cheers,
