Default Eplc Mae Bly and Blc Greenwich

Here are 4 more orchids from my collection.Though I now prefer catts I still keep vandaceous orchids to remind me of the time when 90% of my collection were vandaceous hybrids. [Top left] Eplc Mae Bly with clusters of 3" flowers. Next to it is Blc Greenwich 'Hula Girl' AMHOS , both of which are very free flowering with blooms on every new pseudobulb. Kagawara Christine Low is that mass of bright red 2" flowers: the red colour from its ascocentrum and renanthera parents and the full round shape from its vanda ancestry. The last is V Gordon's Delight with 4" blooms. The foto doesn't do it justice.

That Kagawara Christine Low is absolutely amazing! What an impact that must make in a collection. Space concerns require me to ask, how big is your plant overall?

And the Eplc Mae Bly is also interesting, with the spotting on the blooms.

Kagawaras are really eyecatching with their brilliant red and orange hues. They are also very easy to grow - plenty of sun >70%, regular feeding. They are so easy to grow here that many varieties are being cultivated for cut flowers - but some varieties are quite recalcitrant bloomers and attract only diehard hobbyists. I'll post a pic of one of these but have lost the name tag.
Secret of growing orchids? Plenty of TLC and a conducive climate.

    *Derek:
I've had the plant for 5 years and it's now 3ft tall x 18" wide[?] Ibought it as a blooming plant when it was 1ft tall - a bit big for the window-sill.
