    Talking Mokara noid blooming again!

I wish all my orchids were like this guy. He blooms no matter what I do and now this is the second spike this year..it used to only be one! Looks like he's just getting better and better each year.

My neighbors were out looking at him today...here he is:

Ah lovely. I love mokaras, they are very floriferous in warmer countries like India, and mine bloom 4 or even 5 times a year with overlapping blooms. So Shan as the plant matures and grows really big I think more of these beauties will be on their way this year. Very nice, I have never seen this colour in Mokaras before, even in catalogues.

Love the 'blues' but I have big doubts that this is a Mokara. It looks like a pure Vanda and a V. coerulea hybrid.

It originally was shipped in a 4" plastic pot and was root bound....it's still in there. There is no potting medium....just roots everywhere. Since it's so happy I just leave it be.

I have never seen this colour in Mokaras before, even in catalogues.

Could be its not a Mokara...the group of them I got that day were all listed as mokaras but no individual ID's. It's my happy mystery plant.

Glad you all enjoy him as much as I do!

Like Roy, I doubt that it's a mokara - more like an ascocenda with coerulea blood.
