Default Vandopsis lissochiloides and other New acquisitions

Last saturday we had to pick up a package from a friend so we decided to drop
by our favorite garden store on the way.

We managed to get the following:
    Vandopsis lissochiloides
Vanda Gordon Dillon x Vanda Virat Blue
    Paphiopedilum godefroyea

The Vandopsis is really huge and expensive, and believe it or not we bought the
smaller one as the larger one is too big and wont fit in the car. As you can see
from the photo, it has a spent spike, it was about a meter long so i ask the seller
to cut it off, otherwise it wont fit in the car as well.

Attached are the photos of the the Vandopsis and Vanda. Enjoy.

Healthy plants and the flower is awesome! The vanda is potted and not in a basket?

    Thanks glad you liked it.
The Vanda is in a basket while the Vandopsis is potted in a very large pot, with large
charcoal and diatomite as it is too big for a basket.

I remember you said you've been wanting a Vandopsis for a while. I'm glad you were able to find one. I look forward to seeing more pictures when it comes into bloom again.

oh yeah, since i saw a huge one back in may, i've been on the lookout for these. I've almost
given up because everyone i asked said that its very rare in cultivation and that my
chances of finding one is really slim. But when we got to our favorite garden supply,
there's this one newly opened store so we checked them out, and what do you know, a
huge vandopsis about a 4-4.5ft tall with a keiki about 1ft high greeted us, and its for sale, unfortunately
its just too big to fit in the car so i ask if i could just buy the keiki, he said he has another
one out back, so thats what we got instead. its about 1.5-2ft high and about 2-2.5ft wide, with a
spent spike of about 3-4ft long, which has to be cut anyways because it wont fit in the car.

We were told that it'll flower around march, so we'll see. this is my most expensive orchid so far.
    But its all worth it.
