    Default Vanda tricolor

I think this is the variety Suavis and the first time I've bloomed the plant. Many moons ago, V. tricolor was my very first Vanda and the reason I started growing Vandas and allied. Shame about that !!!!!

very nice Roy.. mine isn't doing anything... guess I missed the opportunity this year... hmm.. guess I also need to move it to more light.

[grumpy mode on] well if instead of just showing off awesome blooms a paragraph of growing condition would be included, this novice orchid grower would be happier! [/ grumpy mode off] ... well if you were in Thailand or Florida or in the Northern Territories I would not be curious but you appear to be in a more temperate climate so I am curious to know if you just use a window or you have lights,

lol.. hey stef, where are you growing yours?

I have the same plant as per my earlier post... and like u, I am trying to work out the best way to get this baby to bloom... although mine isn't a baby.. it is about 50cm tall with two growths. Now I grow mine under a covered shadehouse in Sydney so again in a temperate climate (a little like Roy's although he gets more of the really warm and really cold condition than we do in wonderful Sydney {everyone should come and visit hahahah} , so my guess is that in my growing condition I need more light.

oh how big is your plant now?

btw, in general, Vandas like lots of light (not direct midday sun, but definitely more light than say Paphs or Phalaenopsis)

hey Roy, would you say, more like Cattleya light, or even more?

    cheers
    tim
