Vandas like to grow bare root. Give it good light, humidity, high temps and watering once a day (some times twice). Some pics of the plant will be very helpful.

so hows the vanda being grown now? how long ago before it was taken out of the clay
pot? like margo said, they love to grow bareroot, but they can be potted as well as long
as it is free draining.... my guess would be is that when the plant was taken out of the
pot a lot of roots were damaged in the process, why was it taken out of the pot in the
    first place?

Whenever I buy vanda potted I take it out ot the pot immediately. They grow new roots very quick.
