The "unidentified" southern Luzon Dendrobium is D. sanderae var. luzonicum which was described in the Philippine Orchid Review, by Danny Tiu, about 10-12 years ago.

Nope... I do have a Dendrobium dearei at home... I got more problems with the Dendrobium subgenus Formosae, they hate being wet feet. My Dendrobium schuetzei is sick due to the much watered rainy season, it has never produced any new shoots due to overwatered. I get hard collecting this specie because most of these came from Surigao, Agusan, and Davao provinces facing Pacific Ocean. We can find many specimens from these provinces. In Mindanao, forestry is very strict. It is indeed illegal to collect plants from the wild and even for international trade. I hope those collectors should follow the guidelines of CITES and IUCN.
