Glad you like it. I haven't noticed a fragrance.

I really like this "type" of Cattleya Alliance over the solid colors... not that they aren't beautiful, just flowers like yours seem to have such eye appeal!

I like the spots too. Most of the hybrids I've made are C. guttata type spotted catts.

So of the crosses you've made, about how long does it take you to go from pod to flowering sized plant in your growing conditions? And is this something you do "frequently" or just once in a while? I've always been interested in this aspect of the "hobby" but because of room restraints have never done anything... I did "experiment" with some Phals because they're easy but never did anything with the pods.... I do admire those who are successful at the art of creating neat flowers!

I like it! How big is the flower? It looks really large. Using the hand as a reference, I'm guessing the photo is representing very close to the actual size of the flower.

    Cheers,
    Rob

One of my first crosses was made in July of "07". Flasked in March of "08" and replated in August of "08". I put them in compots in July of "09". This was a medium size Catt and a pretty fast grower. I want to move them to the greenhouse this spring. I only did this at first to "play" and see if I could do it. Now I make crosses quite often. Even with all the failures, the successes make it worth while to me.

The hand creats an optical illusion. The flower measures 2.5 inches across.
