    Default Ascocenda Minipalmer confusion

Just got this from the local Sunday market, but different sellers. Tho they
looked similar they are indeed different. The confusion is that both are named
the same.... with the exception that the other one is handwritten and the
other is printed.... but even on the printed one i think there is a spelling issue.

    Anyways here they are...

    Quality label I don't think. Should be; V. Mini Palmer x ( V. merrillii x V. insignis ).
As far as the flowers go, to me they like what I would expect to see.

Both blooms appear very similar. I believe the difference is a growing environment. That said, the one in photo one has a yellow center that the one in photo 2 doesn't have. One might be a different cross altogether, but they do share similar backgrounds. On the next blooming in your care, you will hopefully be able to see if they are siblings.

    Cheers,
    BD

Randy, all your pictures make me wish I could go to your local Sunday market...... Both are very pretty- the first pic. looks more like V. Mimi Palmer. I have one V. Mimi Palmer cross and I've seen pictures from the same cross and the same vendor but the flowers look different (I think mine looks more like daddy! LOL)

thanks guys, so you think they're the same but different clones? I can't wait to have them
rebloom under my care and see what they'll give me then... oh did i mentioned that the
    spotted one is fragrant.

My first question was whether they are clones at all. If instead they are 2 of the same cross, then that could explain the variation shown here (just as siblings can look very different from each other). The 2nd one is my favorite

ok... maybe clone is not the right word im looking for... but if i understand it right... its
possible that they have the same hybrid formula(?) but the result was different? if so
do you suggest that i keep the current tag..(spelling corrected of course). I really thought
that the one with the printed tag is the properly named one tho mispelled, and that
another store selling quite a similar one saw it and copied the tag.

The bag babies here can have tags that are either hand written or printed. you could have two of the exact same breeding and they will be like that.
