Wow - very contrasty colors, but in a very handsome way. Nice one!

the photo doesn't do it justice. the yellow is like a canary yellow and the lip is bright purple... i need a new camera.

Correct colors on orchid photography is the bane of my life! Flash totally skews it. It requires some effort on a lighting setup that I just haven't gotten to yet...

Good luck - may the force be with you!

i don't use a flash. i use two 100W shop lamps reflected off of 33 in. Black-Backed White Umbrellas . i am using a less than optimal camera setup. a 1 megapixel camcorder w/ a macro lens. i use Graphic Converter(a mac application) to adjust the size, resolution, color, brightness and contrast.
    as follows:
    1) reduce size of image by 60% (scaled)
    2) increase resolution from 72dpi to 600ppi
    3) reduce size again by 12% (scaled)
    4) adjust brightness and contrast/saturation
    5) adjust colors
    6) then save as jpeg (6.0 good compression)
one of these days i'll upgrade to a proper digital camera (5 megapixel or higher). i use a similar process for 35 mm shots that i scan... different ratios though.(but i hate to wait for film to be developed.)

I don't know how to do all of that...no wonder my pictures are blurry. Anyway, nice orchid and great coloring.

The contrasting colors are really startling and surprising. I like it!
