Default My Stolen Blue Vanda NOID

Here's one of my favorite vandas. It's one of the bluest I've seen in its class. Unfortunately, a thief climbed over our fence one night and stole the whole plant as well as some of my other vandas in bloom at that time.

Since then, I have tried unsuccessfully to find a replacement. The other similar vandas available also classified as "BLUE" were a little on the violet or purple side.

You can say that again Randy. I have been a victim twice already. Maybe perhaps of the difficulty in detaching and detangling the roots, the thief just cut off the stem. In one instance, I have successfully "regrown" a stolen Velthius vanda from what little was left of it.

I am so sorry Angel that this has happened to you. I feel good things coming your way. Keep hanging in there and maybe set some mouse traps out for the dirty buggers!!!

Thanks Abiom. You are so right. Once I even went to the plant market the morning after the incident just to see if the stolen orchids would be resold to unsuspecting buyers.

That is terrible; it is like stealing someone's pet. Outrageous. I hope karma catches up with your thief. AND, I especially hope you find another blue vanda like the one you lost. It really was a beauty.

    Cheers,
    BD

    Thanks for your sympathy Bruce.
I know times are hard, especially in the Third World. But nothing justifies thievery. I've never replaced many of the stolen orchids, especially the NOID ascocendas simply because there were none for sale anymore.
Oh well, we all have to move on.

I hope you find a new blue Vanda soon, the color does look very deep.

Sorry for the loss . Hope you'll find a replacement soon. The Thais have produced a lot of blue vandas and they are not too expensive - BS size US$10 - 20 here in Malaysia.
