Hi Angel. I checked out Mkra Bota Gold. Parentage= Arachnis hookeriana x Ascda Duang Porn and Ascda Duang Porn = V Thananchai x Ascda Yip Sum Wah. Almost all Bota Golds are yellow/bronze/orangeish and interestingly there is a variety in Thailand that is an alba form. Of all mokaras Bota Gold has on of the roundest form. Only Mkra Khaw Phaik Suan rivals it for roundness.

There are many yellow mokaras and aranda of note eg Mkra New Orange, Mkra Yellow Star, Mkra Chark Kuan and the Mokara Sayan crosses but most of them are of the longish form and not as round as Bota Gold or Khaw Phaik Suan. Incidentally the latter has as one of its parents Aranda Deborah ( one of the earliest of arandas ).

Wow, Yew Sung, what a wealth of information! Thank you.
Then, I think, the lighter yellow orchid, like you said, is more rounded and therefore, would be more representative of a Mokara Bota Gold.
Here's an interesting link from Ron (walingwaling). His Bota Gold does look like a cross between my two Bota Golds. http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...ld-orange.html

Yes Angel I did look at Ron's Bota Gold and I thought it is one of the better varieties of Bota Gold.
