thanks Sven. Jamaica and the Philippines wold have about similar climates so I think you could very well grow these vandas in your garden. I wouldn't know about the availability though.

    Thanks Alvin.
Usually, they are watered twice a day, around 7AM and then around 3PM. Now it's rainy so there's less watering.
All my vandas are grown outdoors under full sun, no shade cloth. Average hottest temperatures in Cotabato would be 32 degrees Centigrade.

Hey, if you have any seeds, I would be very happy to try growing this formidable orchid!

Also, check what seeds I have to offer. Plenty.

I've never grown any orchid from seed Sven. I think that would take ages. My vandas are usually propagated through cuttings.

Yeah, most people do it that way. It's just nearly impossible to get cuttings to Jamaica - most would be stolen before they arrive. Many orchid growers here in Jamaica face that problem: they order, and nothing arrives despite of being sent.

The seeds are much easier to be sent, and it is not so difficult to pollinate a blossom. That's why many growers here in Jamaica ask for seeds. The thieves inside the postal services won't recognize easily the value of those seeds.

I hoped you might have any seeds of these wonderful orchids on your photos. :-)

But nonetheless, my compliments again - your orchid blossoms just look great! I wonder, if you could send me some large photos of them to my e-mail address? In that case, I'll give you my e-mail address as PM. I would be happy to have your blossoms as part of my digital photo collection. I try to get high resolution photos of as many orchids as possible, and your orchids are just gorgeous!

And I thought our post office in the Philippines was bad. Here, all they are interested in are those envelopes coming from overseas. Dollar bills inserted in those would often go missing.

Check out photobucket and go to my album angel_photoalbums. I have many orchid photos there including some that I have yet to post on this forum. You can copy and paste them I think. ;-)

Ha ha ha! Thanks, Brother in Postal Theft! ;-)

    I will check 'em out.

Do you know the exact name of my orchid?

I read your post on your ascocentrum just now. It is an orchid endemic to the Philippines but yours seems to be some kind of hybrid. Will inform you when I am able to identify it.
