It happens to my vandas all the time Yew Sung, different colors at different times. Your catts are beautiful in either shade. So it's OK.

I've had the same experience with the varying colour intensity of the other orchids but never to the extent of having the colour washed out complettely! I recently switched to a new foliar fertiliser and have noticed that not only has it boosted blooming but colour has intensified. My Blc Chia Lin has just opened and the colour is unbelievable compared to the previous blooms and ditto with the other plants. Just hope I am able to photograph a few of the blooming plants before I go away for the holidays.

The bleached out effect happens to me but not with orchids, sometimes with ornamentals. I have two Pseuderanthemum laxiflorum growing just several feet from each other but one gets sunlight half a day while the other grows under heavy shade.

The one in the sunny spot has bright purple flowers while the other has very pale pink flowers. So different from each other.
