It's been awhile since I last went to an orchid show. The vanda section was beautiful! I like the picture you took where they are all in a row...i'd love to run across a few of those sometime. Thanks for sharing...now time to go look and see when the next orchid show is around here.

I'm going to Davao (actually Panabo City) in December (the day after Christmas) for a week to visit my godchildren, one of them I've unofficially adopted.

Looks like that if someone would put up a nursery that grows phals and other genus besides Vandas would probably make good business there since he/shw would be the only one. I think Phals would do well there as long as the humidity is maintained by daily fine misting.

Yeah, there are phals that would love the warmth and the humidity. Angel, you should consider setting up a nursery, and then all your forum friends can get first dibs and special discounts....

Possibly, since there's always a market out there. There were exhibitors at the trade fair with a few phals and some other orchid tribes. Funny but I've never come across anyone here who is actually looking for phals.

Some big phals, white and combination colors, grow on trees on our family's properties on the foothills of Mt Apo in Cotabato. The lower growing ones fall prey to cows feeding neath the trees. Lucky cows.

A nursery! How I wish, Gita.
Anyway, I'm not that much into phals, so there shouldn't be any competition between us two... But my vandas and dendrobiums would sure look great with your phals!

    Hi Angel,

The plant you called an Arachnis hybrid (with the pink back to the floral segments) is Vandopsis lissichiloides. This species is widely spread throughout south-east Asia, but only found in the southern Philippines naturally.
