    Default Vanda Sanderiana Alba?

    Hi Good Day/Evening,

I'd like to share you my new acquisition and at the same time to ask our fellow experts here for an opinion (thanks in advance)

I bought this plant last saturday for $15.5 / Php700. Can I call this a pure bred Sanderiana Alba? On the other forum site (honestly I got only 1 reply) they said this is an x of something (maybe selfing?) but from what I believe if you self this vanda it will produce even slight spur on lip. As you can see there is no hint of spur on lip(s).

All inputs are welcome and much appreciated.

Closely to Alba but the Alba form is pure yellow with no streak of brown.

A back crossed of Alba and hybrid Euanthe. I can see the line inside the midlobe in which Euanthe does not have.
The line inside the midlobe indicates a trait from a Vanda hybrid with long hypochile or spur and Euanthe doesn't possess any hypochile or spur.
I mean of the line, the line in the middle of the hypochile, try to examine it.

I have a friend from Davao (He's now in Cagayan de Oro City) has the local source for true Euanthe sanderiana. Last he bought 3 pieces with flowers but I was not able to acquire 1 piece because I have too many things have working with. Maybe next time.

Unfortunately that isn't the alba form of E. Sanderana.

It is easy to spot a Sanderana by looking at the back of its lip for the absence of a spur. If it has a spur then it isn't a Sanderana. The back part should be perfectly rounded with no protusions whatsoever.

Here is a photo of my Sandera 'alba' taken a few years ago when in full bloom ...
