    Another easy to grow plant , it has been blooming off and on for quite awhile now, is not picky about light . Gin

    I almost missed this. That is very, very nice. I never thought I liked these, but the more pics I see the more I like them. One of those flowers would look nice behind your ear. Go ahead and chop one off.

    those are lovely flowers u have there Gin.... i love species orchids.. it's like mother nature has just done all there is needed to produce these beauties....

    nice...is that a coerulea type?

    I think "aquinii" is usually reserved for those plants with splash petals, though.

    uh oh... I thought the coerulea types were the splash petals!

    Ah well.... Still, it's a stunning flower. I love the crisp star shape.

    I did a search and found both splash and plain listed as aquinii and as coerulea . So we are all right Thanks for the compliments. Gin

    forma coerulea is applied to anything with that soft "bluish lavender" color in catts. fma. aquinii with regards to c. intermedia denotes the splash petals. there are splash-petalled forms of both the regular color (aquinii) and the "blue" color form (intermedia fma aquinii coerulea).
