BD I understand the some Thai breeders are trying to induce mutation in some of the mericlones they produce by introducing hormones into a few flasks during certain stages of development. However results are unpredictable. Den Burana Sunshine 'Mutation' is a result of one these experiments.

I just bought this orchid few days ago. I think this one is the first double orchid go comercial. Never see double orchid before.

The flower looks untidy and informal, because they have some lips, some petal, and some structure between lips and petal. If this double form happen on peloric orchid, maybe the result will more symetric and beautifull.

You're so right Fahmi. I tore a bloom to pieces and couldn't find the sexual parts of the flower. This is one weird orchid.

Since you are interested in the peloric form I would recommend the pretty white Den Ellen White ' Mutation'. This one is nice, not weird. It too comes from Thailand.

Yew, so this is a result of genetic experimentation or a Frankenstein flower so to speak! Oh the horror of it all! Only having fun! Happy Holidays! AL
