Talking Vanda Somsree Gold in bloom

V Somsree Gold 'Pachara' is blooming again. These blooms have been open for more than 10 days. The greenish yellow colour will turn a light yellow in a couple of weeks. Yes, the blooms are very long lasting. The dark grape coloured vanda at the back is V Siam Ink, the picture of which I posted some time ago.

This time of year seems to be the vanda season.

Does she stay on that color from the beginning or does she gradually change her color from pale yellow to white ?

I used to have the 'kaki ayam' problem but now I keep the ground in the orchid house moist all the time and let the unconfined roots of the strapleaved vandas hang down almost to the ground.I would like to have a sort of shallow pond under the plants like they do in Thailand but I'm sure if I do that the health authorities will charge me for breeding the aedes mosquito. I grow the vandas in open plastic pots without any media. Also may be the northern climate here is more similar to the climate o Thailand.

The present colour is greenish yellow and it will gradually become more yellow and less green as it ages but the shape remains flat and round.

Thanks everyone for looking in. A few more of my vandas will be blooming in the coming weeks. Unfortunately V Robert's Delight 'Garnet Beauty' is showing no sign of blooming and it has not bloomed yet this year.
