    Default Bro. sanguinea

I didn't know quite where to post this picture, here ,or in the Catt. forum .
It is Broughtonia sanguinea (Hamlyn's Peach) X aurea . It has 3 spikes but I could not get a close up of all . 2 are not open this one is just opening . It is mounted on an old Oak slab . Watered in the am. only . Old roots trimmed out when dead . Some of the info. says to rip them off the mounts to remove old roots trouble is it removes the good ones too . The second picture is the whole plant . Gin

Gin that is beautiful. I love the arrangement of the flowers and how flat they are. Looks like a very, very healthy plant indeed.

Now that's a plant to make the root lovers around here happy! Very nice! And the flowers are great too.

Thanks for the nice words , it is really not a big plant , the spikes are long tho . From what I have read they are prone to rot , if it is cool and overcast I don't water it , or just water the roots on the other side of the mount . I bought it several years ago it came with a nice load of scale as a freebie finally got rid of them by throwing the whole plant in soap and Malathion , didn't know Malathion is supposed to kill Bros. Thanks again Gin
