Vanda bensonii or not ??

    ferdi, it has a very strong sweet fragrance in the morning. Very delightful also.

    Ron, its hard to tell but there is a strong tricolor influence in your flowers. The one thing that stands out to me in your pics is the flowers being so bunched. I'm not an expert in V.tricolor but from those I've flowered and seen, the flowers spread very well on the spike as my 2nd pic shows. Your plant looks different also but again there are so many tricolors I can't tell. Just seems to be a bit too robust.

    yeah, definitely, maybe more than a touch. thing is, im not totally convinced its a hybrid tho.
    as i said, it looks very identical to that link i posted on your thread, and you also said its from a species grower.

    Ron, there is a cross registered, V.tessellata x V. tricolor = Caroline J. Robinson No pics on net that I can find though.

    What is the flower size on your plant ?

    thanks roy, i also couldnt find any pix. flowers would be bigger than v.tesselatta, just dont know the exact measurements, and very fragrant from morning hours til noon.

    Ron, while searching thru my collection of orchid books, 100's, I found an article with pics of various V.tricolor. Some resemble mine and a number yours. They don't show the plant or spike well but the flowers are very close to yours and I would suggest the name V.tricolor would do just fine.
