    Default Vanda coerulea

First flowers on a seed-raised plant, in my collection for some 18 months now.I am delighted with the form and size of the flowers, and also the lasting quality. I actually took this pic on 27th August , and the plant is still in flower - the first few flowers have just dropped off (October 14th). The big hybrids which are probably tetraploid do last a couple of months or more , but other species I have flowered ( e.g. lamellata, boxalli, denisoniana ) have all been much shorter lived, say 2-3 weeks on average.

I agree Geoff. A really outstanding specimen! If it's a tetraploid then it's prime candidate for hybridising.
